日本を中心として活動する作家 Mia O（ミア・オー）の木版画をご紹介いたします。
オーはソウル生まれ。弘益大学校絵画専攻卒業後、ニューヨークPratt Instituteで絵画専攻修士号。2003年に旧水性木版画アーティスト・イン・レジデンスプログラムである長沢アート―パークに参加。書道にインスピレーションを受けながら、層を重ねたりマーク・メーキングを取り入れたイメージを創作する画家・版画家です。

Mia O solo exhibition “Present”

CfSHE Gallery is pleased to announce the solo exhibition by Mia O “Present”.
Mia O was born and raised in South Korea and currently lives and works in Tokyo, Japan.
After she graduated from Hong-Ik University in Seoul, she received MFA at Pratt Institute in New York in 2001. She participated in the former Mokuhanga Artist-In-Residence “Nagasawa Art Park” and learned Japanese water-based woodblock printmaking in 2003.
Her works are often inspired by calligraphy. She works as a painter and printmaker at the same time to create images that embrace layering and mark-making.
