出を自粛したり三密を避けるべき状況下にあっても、幸い私たちは木版画の制作を続けることが出来ています。それはプレス機を必要とせず限られたスペースでも制作が可能な日本の伝統的な版画技法の特性が強みになっているのかもしれません。現代アートとして新しい表現の可能性も秘めた古くて新しい技法、水性木版画。私たちはこれからもその魅力を多くの人々に伝えていきたいと考えています。未曾有の事態の中で新たな展開に向けて始動した 私たちの作品を、是非ご高覧下さい。

MI-LAB -Preparations-
Mokuhanga Exhibition by 6 Artists–Instructors/Staff

Fortunately we are able to continue our Mokuhanga practice, even when we have to refrain from going out and keep social distance. Perhaps it is due to the feature of Japanese traditional printing techniques that allows producing works in a limited space without the need for a press machine. Water-based woodblock printmaking is an old and new technique that has the potential of new expressions as contemporary art. We would like to keep introducing many people with its appeal. Please have a look at the works of 6 artists who started for new development in this unprecedented situation.
